Please note that the following programs are available at no cost to our rostered patients only.
Available to patients identified as having high cholesterol.
Patients will learn about cholesterol, healthy eating, physical activity, stress management and other lifestyle factors that can affect your cholesterol. Patients will have the opportunity to set goals to help improve cholesterol levels. Weight and waist circumference measurements will be completed privately to assess current risk factors. Patients will have the opportunity to follow up in 3-6 months to develop further goals.
This class is facilitated by our Registered Dietitian and Health Educator.
Available to patients with prediabetes (Impaired Glucose Tolerance and/or Impaired Fasting Glucose)
Patients will learn about diabetes, prediabetes and its risk factors, healthy eating, reading food labels and physical activity. Patients will have the opportunity to set goals to reduce their risk of developing diabetes. Weight and waist circumference measurements will be completed privately to assess current risk factors. Patients will have the opportunity to follow up in 3-6 months to develop further goals.
This class is facilitated by our Registered Dietitian and Registered Nurse.
This 6-week group program is for women diagnosed with depression, who want to work on strategies to assist in managing their symptoms. This group will teach you the skills and techniques to assist in managing your depression in everyday life. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, you will learn how your thoughts and behaviours are connected with mood. Through group collaboration, behavioural exercises and action planning, participants will learn how to lessen their depression. A pre-screening and post-screening follow-up session will also take place.
This program is facilitated by a family physician and a Mental Health Worker.
This 6-week program is for children who have been diagnosed with ADHD or are experiencing issues with self-esteem, anger management, impulsivity or bullying issues. This group program will teach children skills in communication, anger management, problem solving and dealing with emotions using interactive, hands-on activities. Parents will also have the opportunity to learn strategies to support their child in applying these skills as well as learn from our special guest speakers including our Pharmacist and Registered Dietitian.
This program is facilitated by our Mental Health Workers.
This 8-week group program concentrates on developing a healthier lifestyle and focuses on a non-diet approach to weight management using lifestyle and behavioural modifications. Each weekly session focuses on a different topic such as: factors that affect eating patterns and behaviours, nutrition, active living, goal setting, food triggers and self-image, managing roadblocks and strategies for dining out and special occasions. There will also be an opportunity to do a supermarket tour and learn about healthy food choices at the grocery store.
The goal of the program is to help patients make permanent lifestyle changes and reach and maintain a healthier weight.

Break Through To Better Bone Health — The goal of this program is to prevent bone loss and maximize functional capacity of patients with Osteoporosis. Designed for any age, the program will provide information on prevention and provide basic information about Osteoporosis, nutrition, exercise and treatment.
It Takes Two to Talk — This program is an early language intervention communication program for children and parents. Parents will learn the basic concepts about communication and language that are essential for the healthy development of their child.
